To be part of this special group, it REQUIRES that you purchase the Shakeology Super Sampler.

T 25 Challenge Starts this Monday, February, 16th, 2015

Are you up for the Challenge?
Order your Challenge Pack today! Less than a week to go until our first T25 challenge group kicks off and I want you all to be prepared so I wanted to take a minute and explain a little about what all the fuss is all about.
Shaun T is the man behind it all and has delivered Focus T25 for us to be able to fit in a workout that leaves you with amazing results all within 25 minutes for 5 days a week for just 10 weeks. Just think as soon as you are done you will be ready for swimsuit season to be here!

Here is the rundown:

Focus T25 is broken down into an “Alpha” phase and a “Beta” phase.  There are 12 total workouts =

Alpha Phase workouts:

Cardio

Speed 1.0

Total Body Circuit

Ab Intervals

Lower Focus

Beta Phase workouts:

Core Cardio

Speed 2.0

Rip’t Circuit

Dynamic Core

Upper Focus

There is also a Stretch workout and the bonus workout Core Speed (if you order through a teambeachbody coach like me).

In the Alpha phase, you’ll build your foundation using just your body weight.  Plus, there is beginner and advanced levels so everyone can get it done.

After you spend 5 weeks building your foundation, it will be time to step it up with the Beta phase and focus on your core.  These workouts feature new dynamic moves to burn fat and sculpt lean muscle with an emphasis on your core so your abs get shredded too.  With Focus T25, you don’t waste a single second!  “Don’t stop when you’re tired.  Stop when you’re done!” – Shaun T.

Focus T25 comes with a workout calendar, nutrition guide, and resistance band if you don’t have dumbbells.

I completed this program last summer and in just 10 weeks I was completely amazed at my results. I have been sampling the DVD's again in the last week to get prepared for the challenge and I am completely in love with it all over again. Now I know why I did this workout in the first place and got rid of my gym membership, too. I never thought that I would be able to burn the kind of calories you can burn in just 25 minutes. Each workout, I burn anywhere between 300-600 calories. Just as you are burned out in one muscle group, and feeling like you need a break, Shaun T switches it up and works a new muscle group, giving you the ability to continue to push through the 25 minutes without stopping.
As, a coach who has completed several beachbody workouts, I can honestly say that this program is hard enough for the workout warrior and adaptable for the newbie taking on their first workout program. The best part of this workout is that there are NO EXCUSES! There is literally no excuse why anyone can not do this program, from those under a time crunch, to those whose fitness levels are keeping them out of the gym, this program is for everyone.

The Power of a Challenge Group
Challenge groups are Facebook groups of people all completing the same workout program at the same time. They give the challengers the opportunity to hold each other accountable, motivate each other, support one another and provide a sense of "Team". One of the biggest pitfalls to at home workouts is that people fall off because they are not accountable. There is no one in your living room to push you when you just don't feel like working out. The challenge group changes all of that. Now, instead of not being accountable to anyone, you are accountable to both the Coach, who runs the group(Me),  as well as your fellow challengers. No one wants to get on Facebook and tell their group they skipped their workout today, and for some, that is motivation enough.
Taking on a program like this can be daunting for someone who has no support. This is where the challenge group comes in. We function as a source of support, motivation and accountability. This group gives the members a place to ask questions, seek out support and commiserate with each other.

Are you at a Plateau? Do you need something that will jumpstart your clean eating?

3 Day Refresh Review: What is the 3 Day Refresh?

Our first stop in this 3 day Refresh review is to better understand what this Refresh is all about.
The 3-Day Refresh is scientifically designed to help you fast track your weight loss, kick start your healthy eating habits, and help you get a clean break from poor eating habits.
The Beachbody 3 Day Refresh program is a simple and straightforward program that will help cleanse your body and improve the way you feel without starving yourself.
Common cleanses on the market are normally high in sugar and very low in protein, which results in you feeling weak, hungry, and sluggish.
Instead, the 3 Day Refresh is high in protein, high in fiber, and high in nutrition to help support your metabolism while also nourishing your vital organs. The Shakeology 3 day cleanse is a form of detoxification that makes use of the super food, whole food ingredients found in the Shakeology shake.

Beachbody 3 Day Refresh Review: How does the 3 Day Refresh work?

For 3 days you’ll have a superfood-packed Shakeology shake for breakfast along with a fruit option.
A Fiber Sweep digestive health drink later in the morning.
A tasty and satisfying, high-protein Vanilla Fresh shake for lunch, accompanied by fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy fat options throughout the afternoon.
For dinner, you’ll have another Vanilla Fresh shake along with your choice from a list of delicious, easy-to-prepare dinner recipes.
You can also have tea twice a day and as much filtered water as you like. It’s recommended that you drink AT LEAST half your body weight in ounces per day.

3 Day Refresh Review: What makes the 3 Day Refresh cleanse different from other 3 Day Cleanse programs?

Many juice cleanses and other short term cleanses provide incomplete nutrition that leads to muscle loss instead of fat loss. Additionally, you’re more like to regain weight because of the lack of protein, low fiber, and/or high sugar levels. And finally, many cleanses aim to starve you and keep you away from eating real and nutritious foods.
As for the price, many juice cleanses range from $50–$70 per day, while the 3 Day Refresh is only $23 per day for the Complete Kit.
In short, the 3 Day Refresh cleanse offers a superior nutritional solution that allows you to eat real whole foods during your cleanse.

3 Day Refresh Review: What to expect when Refreshing…

The Beachbody 3 Day Refresh cleanse is a low calorie program (about 900 calories a day) but because of the shakes and fresh food selections are high in protein and fiber, you will feel satisfied throughout the day.
Word of caution, if you don’t already have a diet that’s high in fruits, veggies, and whole grains, it’s a good idea to prepare for the High Fiber 3 Day Refresh cleanse by eating a large salad and/or a few servings of fresh veggies throughout the week leading up to your cleanse. If you feel a little gassy or bloated, it’s a sign that you need to increase your fiber intake in general.
Fiber is not only important in the Three Day Refresh but also in life in general because fiber promotes satiety, balances blood sugar, promotes cardiovascular health, and keeps your digestive tract functioning.
If gas is an issue during the 3 Day Fresh, the Program Guide has “low gas-producing” options in the veggie list and dinner recipes in the menu guide.
It’s also incredibly important to stay hydrated during the 3-Day Refresh. Water is the body’s lubricant and is required for every major process. It keeps your digestion flowing, flushes out toxins, keeps your system balanced, and helps control hunger.
It’s recommended that you drink half your body weight in ounces every day. So, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking at least 75 ounces of filtered water every day.

3 Day Refresh Review: What’s included in the Beachbody 3 Day Refresh?

Each 3 Day Refresh Kit includes the following:

VANILLA FRESH
(6 high protein shake packets)
The tasty Vanilla Refresh is a protein-rich formula helps curb hunger with more than 20 grams of wholesome plant-based protein, 22 essential vitamins and minerals, probiotics for digestive health, and a patented potato protein extract clinically tested to satisfy appetites.
FIBER SWEEP
(3 digestive health drink packets)
The Fiber Sweep plays a important role in cleaning out your insides… However, it’s NOT like a laxative! Fiber Sweep will gently and naturally eliminate waste from the digestive system with a blend of whole ground flax, chia, and psyllium seed husks. Fiber Sweep can also help lower cholesterol, support healthy blood sugar levels, and may even reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, as part of a healthy diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
PROGRAM GUIDEThis comprehensive guide walks customers through how this program works, what to expect, and how to prepare a shopping list, as well as their body, for the 3-Day Refresh. It also contains a menu planner with numerous easy-to-make, nutritious, and delicious meals, a list of fruit and veggie options, guilt-free flavorings, and recipes for fresh-pressed juices.
SHAKEOLOGY
(3 Packets available
in Complete Kit)
Shakeology is your main source for incredible nutrition. It’s packed with potent supergreens and superfruits. It only makes sense that you’ll start each day of your Refresh with a daily dose of dense nutrition. Shakeology will help improve and support all your body’s vital functions, while also helping to maximize energy and maintain healthy blood sugar levels. You can pick your Shakeology but the vegan flavors are recommended. Available in 6 flavors.

When you buy the Beachbody 3-Day Refresh, you have three options:

Throughout the day, you’re expected to drink plenty of Filtered Water. It’s recommended that you drink at least half your body weight in ounces of filtered water each day.

Here’s a sample menu of what you’ll be having during the 3 Day of the Refresh Cleanse:

  • BREAKFAST: Your nutrition packed shake, Shakeology. With a fruit option.
  • MORNING TEA: 1 cup of unsweetened herbal or green tea.
  • LATE MORNING: Fiber Sweep, a digestive health drink that will help clear out your system.
  • LUNCH: Vanilla Fresh shake, plus 1 option from the Fruit List, 1 option from the Vegetable List, and 1 option from the Healthy Fats list.

  • DINNER: Vanilla Fresh shake, 1 option from the Dinner Recipes, and 1 cup of organic vegetable broth (optional).
  • EVENING TEA: 1 cup of unsweetened herbal tea (caffeine-free).

As you can see, you will not be starving yourself during the 3 Day Refresh cleanse.

3 Day Refresh Results

Shakeology 3 day Cleanse
The prebiotics and enzymes in Shakeology along with all the superfoods found in Shakeology, will kick your digestive system and health back into high gear.
During the 3 Day Shakeology cleanse your body will return to homeostasis by creating a healthy balance of the living organisms in your digestive system..
Homeostasis is important because when you’re out of balance it can lead to diseases, low energy, and other health problems.
Plus… those who have gone through the Shakeology 3 day cleanse have reported healthier skin, nails, and hair, as well as weight loss and other health improvements.

When should I do the Shakeology 3 day cleanse?

People do cleanses for a number of reasons, but the most popular reasons are to lose weight, and/or to “cleanse” your body of toxins and the junk that collects in our bodies over time.
Here are examples of when people decided to do the 3 Day Shakeology Cleanse:
  • After coming home from a vacation where they were eating lots of junk and drinking lots of alcohol.
  • Before a wedding to lose a few pounds quickly.
  • To relieve bloating and from feeling lethargic.
  • After the holidays.
  • And several people have completed the 3 day Shakeology Cleanse before starting a fitness program or to help break through a weight loss plateau.
Why and when a cleanse is done varies from person to person, but the one fact that remains is that if you’re going to do the Shakeology 3 day cleanse and you want to see results, you MUST stick with it and follow the regimen exactly as it’s laid out.

Is the weight you lose during the Beachbody Shakeology cleanse fat?

The straight and direct answer is no.
You will lose SOME fat because your calorie intake is lowered during the cleanse, but the majority of weight loss will come from water weight as the toxins flush out, plus whatever else has been stuck inside your colon for who knows how long.
Like many other cleanses, the Shakeology 3 day cleanse is designed to help cleanse your body of all the toxins that have built up over time. Some people will see and feel a huge difference and some not so much. It all depends on how healthy you are now.

Will I be going to the bathroom a lot during the Shakeology cleanse?

If this is your first time using Shakeology, you may feel a higher cleansing effect than others because Shakeology will bring back your digestive system to how it should be.
The nutrients found in Shakeology will make you regular and help you develop the healthiest digestive system ever… For some people, gas can be a common concern while drinking Shakeology.
With that said, drinking Shakeology can take a while to get used to. It’s often recommended for those new to Shakeology to only take 1/2 a scoop a day until they feel comfortable going to a full scoop (normally a week or two of taking it everyday).
Regular Shakeology users may notice little to no difference in this area because their digestive system has already been regulated.
However, during the Shakeology 3 day cleanse, you may feel yourself going to the bathroom more often than normal. This is ok and is expected because it helps eliminate toxins from your body.

Will I be hungry during the Beachbody Shakeology cleanse?

Shakeology is very filling, especially if you’re taking it three times a day.
The majority of the time, hunger happens because your body is asking for nutrients. Not because it’s hungry but because you’re lacking something your body needs. This is solved with Shakeology because of how nutrient dense it has.
Plus you will be consuming other foods and drinks according to how the cleanse is set up (plenty of water, fruit, salad, green tea and one lean protein at dinnertime).

How to maintain Clean Eating Superbowl Weekend

This weekend is the Super Bowl and if you are like me, you enjoy food and especially appetizers and picky foods. I went searching for some clean eating appetizers. I love introducing clean foods to people who think it's all about veggies. The key to any appetizer is to indulge in moderation. It's not a meal and you should not fill up entirely on too much of one thing. Even though hummus and guacamole are good fats, they should not be consumed in excessively large amounts.
Here is a great link from TBB to view on 25 great Game snacks! Make healthy choices!
http://www.teambeachbody.com/teambeachbodyblog/nutrition/25-healthy-game-day-snacks?ICID=CT_BLOG_BIG_GAME

If you are headed to a party and have no control over the food, here are some tips.
  1.   Pre-Eat: Never rely on what is being provided in HOPES that it is going to be clean. Spend your time focusing on socializing instead of hanging out at the food table.
  2. Choose small plates: Always grab an appetizer plate instead of a big dinner plate and load up on veggies and fresh fruit. Stay away from creamy dips and all the fried food. The small plates will remind you to stay within your portion sizes. When you use a larger plate you tend to over eat and fill the plate with more than you need.
  3. Drink lots of water: If you decide to have a few drinks, stay hydrated. Go with low calorie options like vodka and club soda with a splash of lime or lemon.
  4. Stay away from certain ingredients: Try to avoid anything that is made with mayonnaise, crème cheese, sour crème, or heavy crème. There are lots of calories and fat hidden in there. It doesn't matter if its "low-fat" or "no-fat" because then its just loaded with chemicals and far from clean eating.  To clean up these recipes with those ingredients always use Greek yogurt.
Clean Super Bowl snacks are anything but boring! These decadent offerings are cleaned-up takes on some of your favorite football treats.
Super Bowl Sunday is well known for massive amounts of highly fattening
and unhealthy foods. But it doesn’t have to be that way. This year, take
the challenge of a clean eating super bowl feast!
Clean eating is simply the art of eating foods that are not processed and
are as close to the way nature intended them as possible. If something has
ingredients in it that you can’t pronounce, or that you wouldn’t use in
your own kitchen, it’s probably not clean. This may sound a bit
overwhelming when you think of your typical day of eating. But it’s really
quite simple, and can easily be applied to your Super Bowl meal. To prove
it, here’s one clean eating recipe the guys are sure to love!

Clean Eating TexMex Dip

This dip is by far my favorite appetizer!

(Makes 20 servings – 1/4 cup)

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 ounce) jar of your favorite salsa, no sugar added
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black olives, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can non-fat, refried beans, no sugar added
  • 3 avocados
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 large roma tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro, loosely packed

    Directions:

    1. Combine the beans and the salsa in a pot and warm while stirring constantly. Once they are warm and well combined, remove from heat and pour the beans into your serving dish.
    2. Make your guacamole using the avocados, lime juice, garlic powder and onion powder. Add salt to taste. Layer the guacamole over the beans.
    3. Top with olives and tomatoes next and finish with the fresh cilantro.
    4. Serve with your favorite, clean corn chips or whole grain crackers.

Clean Eating BBQ Chicken Roll

Ingredients
1 batch Clean Eating Pizza Dough
1/2 cup + 2 tbsp clean bbq sauce (I use the OrganicVille brand)
2 large chicken breasts
1 lb. crimini mushrooms
3 shallots
1 tbsp. olive oil + extra for greasing a cookie sheet
1 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese
Tools needed
1 full-sized cookie sheet
1 rolling pin
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 1 – Place the chicken breasts in the oven with 1 tbsp. bbq sauce on
each breast. Bake until the chicken reaches 160 degrees F. on a
thermometer.
Step 2 – While the chicken bakes, slice the mushrooms and dice the
shallots. Saute in a pan with the olive oil.
Step 3 – Grease the cookie sheet and roll out the dough until it covers
the entire sheet.
Step 4 – Spread on the bbq sauce, being sure to leave about an inch of raw
(no sauce) dough all the way around.
Step 5 – Spread on the mushrooms over the sauce.
Step 6 – When the chicken is done, shred it with two forks and toss onto
the pizza roll, over the mushrooms.
Step 7 – Top everything with the mozzarella.
Step 8 – At one of the narrow ends, begin rolling the dough up like a
carpet until you have a nice “log”. Seal the end by turning the roll
slightly on the cookie sheet so that it sits on the end piece of the dough.
This will seal it as it bakes. Pinch off the ends so your filling does not
leak out during baking.
Step 9 – Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. The crust will be firm and almost
brittle.
Step 10 – Slice and serve topped with a little extra bbq sauce.

21 Day Fix Program

So, you may be asking, "How does this program really work?"
It works by a series of containers that you fill daily for your allowed calorie range per day. For me I am in the range of 1200 to 1500 calories per day and if I have a really high caloric workout I bump it up to 1800 calories per day. That is a lot of food, but none the less, I keep it healthy! This gives me 3 green(veggies-broccoli, asparagus, lettuce, carrots, onions), 2 purple (fruits- grapes, raspberries, strawberries apple), 4 red (protein- chicken, turkey breast, fish, tuna, shakeology, eggs, lean red meat), 2 yellow (starchy carbs- rice, sweet potato) you can also substitute the yellow container for a dessert that is listed on the meal plan , 1 blue (nuts, avocado, hummus, feta cheese) and 1 orange (dressings- nut butters and olive oil).

Each container is broken down in the manual with a list of foods that you can eat. I easily pick from the list to plan my meals and snacks and create a meal plan for the week. The foods are listed in order of importance. So the higher on the list the foods are the more nutritionally sound they are. I do not eat out of the containers but I prepare the food in them and then pour it on to my plate. I am always surprised at how much food there is to eat and it is all super HEALTHY AND NUTRITOUS WHOLE FOODS!
You are allowed to drink milk, soy milk or almond milk but you have to substitute  out a yellow container and you are only allowed 3times a week. I usually use almond milk in my shakes and so this the 3 times a week allowed and the rest of the time I just use water to mix it with. I always use fresh fruit, lemons to infuse into my water to make it taste yummy and to not be so boring. You must be drinking a ton of water each day because you are sweating so much out during your workouts. It is recommended that you drink 1/2 your body weight in water each day. So at 120 lbs I must drink 60 oz of water each day. I use a 32 oz water bottle and make sure I fill it up twice every day. This way I know I am getting enough water. During an Asylum workout which I am currently doing now, I have no problem drinking the entire 32oz during my workout.
How does Shakeology fit into the 21 day fix program?
It is counted as a RED container which is a protein. I generally use this as my breakfast or as my first snack of the day after my workout!
 Container allowance

21 Day Fix approved Foods

There are a ton of recipes to choose from on pinterest, instagram and just by googling the 21 day fix meal plan in your computer. There is a list of seasoning  mixes that you can easily make to prepare all of you meals with . There are container recipes for your veggies, protein, and starches too. I use www.thegraciouspantry.com for a lot of my recipes, dressings and seasoning mixes that are all clean eating recipes.
Team beachbody provides you with a great tracking worksheet to make this easy for you to follow. It allows you to put your container allowance at the top and you can tally each meal of the day and check what you have! This gives you a great visual to follow. I swear by it and I like to see things in front of me and I am a big fan of crossing things off my list and when I exercise and eat, I know that I can cross off what I had to keep me accountable for what I am putting in my body.

The workout that comes with the 21 day Fix program comes with 7 DVD's and they are all amazing.
Day 1 is Total Body Fix which is cardio with weights. You can always modify the workouts. If you are a beginner you will definitely want to consider doing this. But try to push yourself through the 30 minute workout because I guarantee that you will feel great after it is done!
Day 2 is Upper Fix which uses weights
Day 3  is Lower Fix
Day 4 is Pilates
Day 5 is Cardio Fix
Day 6 is the Dirty 30 workout
Day 7 is the yoga fix, which will help you with balance, flexibility, strength, while increasing circulation and speeding the healing and recovery of your muscles.

What will you need for this workout?
light and heavy set of dumbbells or resistance bands. A yoga mat is also recommended for the Yoga Fix tape.

Never give up... Progress is Progress!

No matter what your goal is or where you are in your fitness journey, I can guarantee one thing: at some point, no matter how dedicated you are, you will feel like quitting. It's true. Your body has a finite amount of energy, so when you're really working hard and you start to hit a wall, your body will be whispering to you, "Quit. It's okay. Do you really want this that bad?"

So how do you fight this? Your strategy is simple. When you started your fitness journey, you wanted something bad enough to get off the couch and start training. You wanted to make a change in your life. You wanted to lose the weight bad enough to change the way you eat and start exercising. You did this because you knew the reward was worth the pain.

What you need to do now is capture that desire.

So you caved in, slipped, splurged, or lost motivation?

WHO CARES?!?

Don't sit there in shame and dwell on it or look at these situations as failures. God made you much stronger than that. Get up, dust yourself off, and move forward. This was only a little bump in the road, a hurdle, an obstacle. Take it one day at a time, aim for progress, not perfection, and never give up on something you want this badly.
YOUR LIFE IS WORTH TRYING AGAIN AND AGAIN!
